3 Days of Immersion: Eagle Hunting, Yurta & Issyk-Kul Canyons

Our adventure begins with an early departure from Bishkek, following the scenic route through the legendary Boom Gorge.

Our first destination is the Ak-Sai Canyons ("Canyons of Forgotten Rivers"). Here, in this realm of red sandstone, you’ll enjoy a trekking excursion to a panoramic viewpoint that offers breathtaking views of the eroded cliffs and the Tian Shan mountains.

After lunch, we will stop at a village on the South Shore for an exclusive cultural experience — the Kyrgyz Yurt Building Masterclass. You will see how the traditional nomadic dwelling is constructed and get the opportunity to actively participate in the assembly process. This is a unique way to connect with the living heritage of nomadic culture.

In the evening, we arrive at Bokonbaevo village.

oday is the highlight of our tour. We will fully immerse ourselves in the ancient and mesmerizing tradition of Hunting with the Golden Eagle (Berkutchi).

This is more than a mere demonstration—it’s an opportunity to witness and participate in the process of an authentic hunt. Accompanied by the experienced Berkutchi master, you will venture into the picturesque slopes. You will not only witness the incredible agility and power of the raptor but will also get to actively participate in preparing the eagle for flight, wear the traditional leather glove, and feel the weight of the mighty bird. You will learn about the subtleties of the lure, the signals, and the deep bond that exists between the hunter and his eagle.

After breakfast, we head to two of the South Shore's main natural gems, maximizing our time for breathtaking views before returning:

Shatyly Panorama: We will make a stop at this panoramic viewpoint that offers the best views of the entire South Shore of Issyk-Kul and the majestic, snow-capped peaks of the Tian Shan mountains.

Skazka Canyon (Fairy Tale Canyons): Next, we descend into the "Valley of Fairy Tale Creatures and Castles." You will enjoy trekking through this labyrinth of unique columns and structures formed by red, yellow, and orange sand formations.

After lunch, we begin our final journey back to Bishkek (approximately 5 hours), concluding our expedition!
